YPF Sociedad Anónima is Argentina's largest integrated energy company, engaged in the exploration, production, refining, and distribution of oil and natural gas. The company operates through several key segments: Upstream, Midstream and Downstream, LNG and Integrated Gas, and New Energies. In its Upstream segment, YPF focuses on both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reserves, most notably the Vaca Muerta shale formation in Patagonia, which is one of the largest shale resources globally. The Midstream and Downstream segment encompasses the refining of crude oil, petrochemical production, and the commercialization of refined products through a nationwide network of over 1,600 service stations, supplying more than half of Argentina's fuel market. Additionally, the company is involved in natural gas processing, liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, and power generation. While the majority of its revenue is generated domestically in Argentina, YPF also exports to neighboring Mercosur countries and other international markets. As a vertically integrated operator, YPF maintains a dominant competitive position in the Argentine energy sector.
