Sabine Royalty Trust (NYSE: SBR) is an express trust formed in 1982 to hold and distribute royalty and mineral interests originally owned by Sabine Corporation. The trust's portfolio consists of landowner's royalties, overriding royalty interests, minerals, and production payments in various producing and proved undeveloped oil and gas properties. These assets are geographically diversified across six U.S. states: Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. As a purely passive vehicle, Sabine Royalty Trust does not engage in any operational, exploration, or drilling activities, nor does it bear the associated capital or operating costs. Instead, its business model relies entirely on collecting royalty income generated by third-party operators extracting oil and natural gas from its properties. Consequently, 100% of its revenue is derived from oil and gas royalties, making its financial performance highly sensitive to fluctuations in global commodity prices and underlying production volumes. The trust has a static asset base, meaning it cannot acquire new properties, and its reserves will eventually deplete over time. After deducting administrative expenses and taxes, the trust distributes virtually all of its net income to unit holders on a monthly basis. The trust has no employees or management team and is administered by Argent Trust Company, which serves as the trustee.
