Mattr Corp., formerly known as Shawcor Ltd., is a global materials technology company headquartered in Toronto, Canada, that designs and manufactures engineered products for critical infrastructure markets. The company operates through two primary business segments: Connection Technologies and Composite Technologies.
The Connection Technologies segment has become the company's largest revenue driver, particularly following the early 2025 acquisition of AmerCable. This segment includes the Shawflex, AmerCable, and DSG-Canusa business lines, which manufacture highly engineered low-voltage wires, cables, connectors, and heat-shrinkable polymer tubing. These products serve a wide range of end markets, including automotive (especially electric and hybrid vehicles), industrial automation, and utility electrification.
The Composite Technologies segment consists of the Flexpipe and Xerxes business lines. Flexpipe manufactures flexible fiberglass-reinforced composite pipes primarily used for oil and gas gathering and water disposal lines. Xerxes produces fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) underground storage tanks and stormwater management solutions used in retail fuel, water, and wastewater applications.
Historically known as one of the world's largest pipe-coating providers for the oil and gas industry, Mattr has undergone a significant strategic transformation. Between 2023 and 2024, the company divested its legacy Pipeline and Pipe Services segment to reduce its reliance on cyclical oilfield markets. Today, Mattr is positioned as a diversified industrial manufacturer with a strong focus on North American infrastructure renewal, electrification, and water management, leveraging its expanded wire and cable portfolio to drive long-term growth. The company generates the majority of its revenue in North America, with additional operations and sales across Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
