Founded in 1926 by Alfredo Fortabat, Loma Negra Compañía Industrial Argentina Sociedad Anónima is the largest cement manufacturer in Argentina. The company operates a nationwide, vertically integrated industrial framework linking vast limestone reserves, clinker and cement manufacturing plants (notably the L'Amalí and Olavarría complexes), concrete batching plants, and distribution centers across major Argentine economic corridors.
Loma Negra conducts business across five operational segments: Cement, Masonry Cement and Lime; Concrete; Railroad; Aggregates; and Others (including industrial waste recycling through its Recycomb subsidiary). The core Cement, Masonry Cement and Lime segment dominates the business, consistently generating over 80% of consolidated gross revenues (yielding AR$ 353.7 billion or roughly 83.8% of gross segment revenues in FY2023, and AR$ 399.4 billion or 88.4% in FY2022). The Concrete segment accounts for around 8-10% of revenues, while Railroad operations (conducted via the Ferrosur Roca freight railway concession connecting major production facilities with key distribution terminals) represent 7-8% of revenues, and Aggregates contribute 2-3%.
The company serves retail customers, distributors, concrete producers, and public infrastructure contractors through both bulk and bagged product channels. Supported by substantial local market share and long-term mineral concessions, Loma Negra is well positioned as the benchmark supplier to the Argentine civil construction and infrastructure sectors.
