Liechtensteinische Landesbank Aktiengesellschaft (LLB) is a universal bank and the oldest financial institution in the Principality of Liechtenstein, founded in 1861. The State of Liechtenstein is the majority shareholder. The bank operates through three main business segments: Retail & Corporate Banking, International Wealth Management, and the Corporate Center. LLB provides traditional banking services, including savings, loans, and mortgages, to private and corporate clients primarily in Liechtenstein and eastern Switzerland. In addition, its International Wealth Management division caters to high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients across the DACH region and internationally, offering asset management, investment advisory, and fund services. Revenue is diversified across conventional banking and fee-based services. For the 2023 financial year, the bank generated CHF 164.4 million in net interest income, CHF 200.0 million in net fee and commission income, and CHF 173.2 million in net trading income. While LLB has acknowledged the growing importance of digital assets and offers some cryptocurrency investment options to clients, blockchain and crypto do not constitute a core, fundamental revenue-generating segment of its business. The bank's strategic focus remains on expanding its wealth management footprint and digital banking capabilities across its core European markets.
