Lithium Argentina AG is an emerging lithium producer dedicated to supplying lithium carbonate primarily for lithium-ion battery and electric vehicle manufacturers. The company's principal operating asset is Caucharí-Olaroz, a low-cost brine extraction and chemical processing facility located in Jujuy Province, Argentina. Caucharí-Olaroz is operated via Minera Exar S.A., a joint venture in which Lithium Argentina holds a 44.8% interest, Ganfeng Lithium Group holds 46.7%, and Jujuy provincial state-owned mining entity JEMSE holds 8.5%. Commercial production at Caucharí-Olaroz commenced in 2023, reaching over 25,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate in 2024 and expanding toward its Stage 1 nameplate capacity of 40,000 tonnes per annum.
Beyond Caucharí-Olaroz, the company owns significant exploration and development assets in the Lithium Triangle region of northern Argentina, notably the Pastos Grandes and Sal de la Puna brine projects in Salta Province, which are being consolidated into an integrated regional development plan (PPG) alongside Ganfeng. Revenue is generated through the sale and distribution of battery-grade and technical-grade lithium carbonate and related joint venture cash distributions. While the company completed a corporate redomiciliation from British Columbia, Canada to Zug, Switzerland in January 2025 to optimize tax structure and financing flexibility, its primary operations and operational headquarters are situated in Buenos Aires and northwest Argentina.
