Hemlo Mining Corp. is a Canadian precious metals mining company focused on the operation, development, and exploration of the Hemlo Gold Mine in northwestern Ontario. The company was established as a standalone mid-tier gold producer following its acquisition of the Hemlo camp from Barrick Gold Corporation in November 2025 for approximately US$1.1 billion. The Hemlo property is a world-class, fully integrated gold mining complex located near Marathon, Ontario, encompassing over 45,000 hectares. It consolidates the historic Williams, David Bell, and Golden Giant mines, which have collectively produced approximately 25 million ounces of gold since operations began in 1985.
Hemlo Mining generates 100% of its revenue from the production and sale of gold. The operation benefits from extensive existing infrastructure, including a 10,000-tonne-per-day processing mill and a modern underground complex with a 6,000-tonne-per-day hoisting capacity. The company's strategy centers on transitioning the asset to an owner-operated model, optimizing underground mining sequences, and extending the mine's life through aggressive brownfield exploration programs, such as drilling at the newly defined E-Zone and South-Rim targets. With over a decade of established reserves and a proven production profile, Hemlo Mining is positioned as a significant mid-tier player in the Canadian gold sector.
