Emerson Electric Co. operates primarily through two business groups: Intelligent Devices and Software and Control. The Intelligent Devices segment includes final control valves, measurement and analytical instrumentation, discrete automation, and safety and productivity solutions. The Software and Control segment encompasses control systems, test and measurement equipment, and its majority stake in AspenTech, which provides asset optimization software. Geographically, the Americas account for roughly half of its revenue, with significant operations in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Historically known for a wide array of electrical products, Emerson has recently shed its climate technologies and consumer appliance divisions to focus exclusively on industrial automation.
