Founded in 1884, Edison S.p.A. is Europe's oldest continuously operating energy company and a cornerstone of Italy's electrification. The company's operations are primarily divided into electric power generation and natural gas supply. Edison generates electricity through a mix of thermal and renewable energy sources, boasting over 7 GW of installed capacity across Italy. In addition to power generation, the company manages natural gas infrastructure, storage, and supply networks, serving industrial clients, public administrations, and residential consumers. Following the divestment of its hydrocarbon exploration and production (E&P) business, Edison has increasingly focused on the energy transition, expanding its renewable energy footprint and offering energy efficiency services. While its ordinary shares were delisted in 2012 after EDF acquired nearly full control, Edison's non-voting savings shares remain publicly traded on the Borsa Italiana.
