CNX Resources Corporation is an independent natural gas exploration, production, and midstream company centered in the Appalachian Basin. The company operates primarily across the Marcellus and Utica shales in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, as well as coalbed methane properties in Virginia. Its business is divided into Exploration and Production (E&P) and Midstream segments, with the latter designing, building, and operating natural gas gathering systems and processing facilities. CNX also provides water sourcing, delivery, and disposal solutions for its own operations and third parties. Originally founded as a coal mining company in 1864, CNX spun off its coal business in 2017 to become a pure-play natural gas developer.
