Founded in 2014, Andfjord Salmon Group AS focuses on sustainable salmon farming with a reduced environmental footprint. The company's shore-based facility at Kvalnes draws clean, oxygen-rich seawater from the nearby Gulf Stream, providing optimal temperatures for salmon growth while minimizing energy consumption. By using a continuous flow-through system rather than recirculating water, the company aims to achieve high survival rates and low feed conversion ratios. Andfjord Salmon holds licenses to expand its production capacity significantly, with a long-term ambition to reach 90,000 tonnes of maximum allowed biomass across multiple sites in Northern Norway. The company completed its inaugural harvest in 2023 and continues to scale its infrastructure to support increased production volumes.
