Acciona S.A. was officially formed in 1997 through the merger of Spanish construction firms Entrecanales y Távora and Cubiertas y MZOV. The company's business is structured into two primary segments: Infrastructure and Energy. The Infrastructure division encompasses civil engineering, construction, water management, and transport concessions, executing large-scale projects such as desalination plants, railways, and bridges worldwide. The Energy division, operated largely through its listed subsidiary Acciona Energía, is a major independent developer and owner of renewable power facilities, including wind, solar, hydro, and biomass. Acciona also maintains smaller operations in real estate, fund management through its Bestinver subsidiary, and other services. Headquartered in Madrid, the company operates in over 40 countries and is controlled by the founding Entrecanales family.
